Those that create web sites like myself mostly rely on shared hosting, but we all dream of getting big enough to have our own server.
I moved up last sumer to a Virtual Private Server (VPS) which is like dedicated server lite. You have pretty much total control but you still share some resources.
Dedicated Servers are like owning you own private server. I have been looking at The Planet and dreaming. They have been talked well of lately at the forums I frequent. $69 per month while fair is still a little rich for me.

Man am I slow. Google Reader has been out a good while and I am just now giving it a try. It is really nice and fast to get going with.
If you have a Google Account just follow the above link and log in. Click Add Subscription on the left and easily search for your favorite feed. No "how to" needed or setup. There is a tutorial if you want and you will see it after login. Enjoy!

I got a new Dell Inspiron back in November and it came with a trial for PC-cillin Internet Security 14. I’m going to buy a year subscription for
Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 as it seemed to work well. When you go to the site it seems like they are phasing out the term PC-cillin.
The trial didn’t slow my XP PC down and even caught a couple of minor viruses. The firewall seems smart enough but not as intrusive as ZoneAlarm. It can scan in the background without noticing a drop in performance. Of course that is with a new PC with 2 gigs of RAM and the Intel Duo.
It seems like I have played with a lot of different antiviruses this year. It seems that in spite of the fancy reviews that none of them are perfect. This one does let you use it on 3 PCs for $49.99, so if you have multiple computers like we do that’s not too bad.

I come in contact with online merchants that are considering adding affiliate marketing to their sales effort. This post is so that I will have a place to send them to see my recommendation for Suluta Affiliate Management Company.
I am an affiliate for some of their merchants and have great respect for their honesty and energy.
They don’t charge to look your situation over. Suluta can help you start a new program, advise you of the pitfalls, point you toward a good network, or help restart a stagnant affiliate program.
They are just down right nice folks to deal with.

I’ve not had great results lately with merchants who sell remanufactured or refilled ink cartridges. I have new hopes in IowaInk.com.
I am going to give them a try by ordering an HP 78 which is the color inkjet cartridge. There price looks to be right at $16 for their 38ml version. I always want to know how much ink they have. It looks like the shipping is free. I’ll end here for know and update after it gets here and is tried.
Update 12/03/2007: It’s looking real food for IowaInk.com. They got the cartridge to me in 2 days via USPS and the shipping was free. It works just fine in the printer. Looks like they are worthy of promotion.
